CONNECT

Connection is at the heart of what we do. It's in connecting with God that we discover who we are, and why we're here. We also love connecting with each other, spending time together - the journey is much more fun with company.

Whether you're exploring faith or looking for a church in Purley to call your home, we'd love you to join us on a Sunday. We meet at 10:30am

Connect Groups

OUR AUTUMN GROUPS START THE WEEK OF 18 SEPTEMBER

Most connect groups have around 6 to 10 people, meeting in homes in Purley and Coulsdon and on a weekly basis.

It’s a place where you can form friendships, share both the good times and the bad, and work out what it means to follow Jesus today. During a typical connect group evening, you might worship together, pray for each other and have a time of sharing and teaching. Together, we can serve our communities in creative ways that we couldn’t do on our own.

  • Fruits of the Spirit – Growing to be more like Jesus

    Tuesday 8PM
    Coulsdon

Hosted by Andy & Sue Belsey

How does God go about painting a portrait of a saint? His canvas is the heart of the one who is redeemed. The colours He puts on His palette are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control. The model He uses is Jesus, in whom every quality is seen to perfection and wonderfully balanced by every other. All God asks is that you hold still – that you stop trying and start trusting. Do this and, in the truest sense of the word, you will become a saint and bear fruit that will last and glorify Him.

We intend to run this group as a classic ‘home group’ with time for worship, bible study, discussion and prayer.

  • All the places to go…how will you know?

    Wednsday 8 – 9:30PM
    Coulsdon

Led by Jo & Mike Sutton

Very rarely in the Bible does God command someone to “stay”. He opens a door, and then he invites us to walk through it – with him, into the unknown. And how we choose to respond will ultimately determine the lives we will lead, the people we will become, and also the lives of those around us.

In this Connect Group we will watch videos and use material by best-selling author John Ortberg to help open our eyes to the countless open doors God places before us every day, teach us how to recognise them, and give us the encouragement to step out in faith and embrace all of the extraordinary opportunities that await. So, as we look at Journeys this term, why not go ahead and walk through this door, this invitation to learn to walk where the Lord is leading you.

  • Prayer Walking Purley – Intercession on Location – Praying On-Site with Insight

    Thursday 8PM
    Purley

    Led by Mark Visser

God is stirring us to take our prayers beyond the walls of our church buildings. As we put feet to our prayers, we’re beginning to pray with huge kingdom-sized hope for Purley and the surrounding areas.

We will be praying for the people and places of Purley to see the presence and power of God released.
To release the Kingdom of God and spiritual freedom and prosperity to our neighbours and neighbourhoods.

Each week we will prayer walk a different area of Purley and hopefully by the end of the connect group we will have covered most of Purley. During the rest of the week feel free to prayer walk your street and pray for the people who live closest to you.
